Barry McRee

Contract Verification Engineer at FirstPass Engineering

Barry McRee has a comprehensive work experience in the field of engineering and verification. Barry started their career at Motorola Semiconductor in 1981 as a Sr. Scientist/Engineer, where they designed and synthesized multiple blocks on SOC and integrated customer asics into an existing SOC design.

In 2005, Barry joined Intel as a Design Verification Engineer, where they developed complex test plans, wrote test cases, and debugged RTL and test bench for an asynchronous interface between Applications subsystem services and PMU and Communications subsystem PMU of an SOC targeting high-end cellular phones.

In 2006, they joined Marvell as a Design Verification Engineer in the Cellular Handheld Group, where they developed a complex test plan, wrote test cases, and debugged RTL and test bench for an SOC targeting high-end cellular phones.

In 2008, Barry worked at PsionTeklogix as a Contract Design Verification Engineer, where they developed test plans, test benches, test cases, and regression suites for ASIC. Barry also mentored less experienced Engineers in Verification Methodology and used System Verilog assertions and Questa for simulation, debug, code, and functional coverage.

From 2011 to 2013, they worked at Emulex as a Verification Engineer, developing test plans, test benches, and test cases for an embedded processor used in multiple blocks on Emulex advanced Ethernet controller ASICs. Barry also upgraded and extended an older test bench using System Verilog classes.

In 2014, Barry joined Qualcomm as a Verification Architect, working as a contract position through Wipro Ltd. Barry developed a test plan, UVM test bench, and test cases for a cache snooper for collecting compression algorithm statistics. Barry also developed a pseudo-random algorithm to fully test compression logic.

Barry's most recent work experience is as a Contract Verification Engineer at FirstPass Engineering. Unfortunately, the specific details of this role are not provided.

Barry McRee attended St. Edward's University from 2002 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science.
