Engelbert Meyer

Engelbert Meyer is an experienced professional in credit risk management, currently serving as the Head of Group Credit Risk Management at FirstRand Bank Limited since January 2015. Prior experience includes leading Risk Management for Absa Mortgages, focusing on credit acquisitions strategy and affordability assessments, and heading Credit Analytics for FNB Commercial, where responsibilities included the development of credit risk models for various lending sectors. Engelbert's career began as an Actuarial Analyst at First National Bank, developing Basel II credit models and managing regulatory capital calculations. Engelbert holds a Fellow designation from the Faculty of Actuaries and completed the Oxford Fintech Programme at Saïd Business School. Academic qualifications also include a B.Comm(Hons) and a B.Comm in Actuarial Science from Stellenbosch University.
