Niel Botha

Niel Botha is an experienced fraud investigation professional with a robust background in security and law enforcement. Currently serving as the Manager of Debit Card Fraud Investigations at FirstRand Group since February 2002, Niel leads advanced fraud investigations and collaborates with prosecutors, utilizing a case management system for documentation. Previous roles include Fraud Investigator at Mercantile Bank Holdings Ltd., where Niel oversaw access control and investigated stock exchange fraud incidents, and Security Supervisor at Emerald Resort & Casino, responsible for employee management and access supervision. Niel's career began with the South African Police Service, where evidence gathering and case management were key responsibilities. Niel holds an International Fraud Examiner Certification and a Diploma in Criminal Justice and Forensic from the University of Johannesburg.
