Holly Huffman

Ms. Huffman has 11 years of clinical research experience within the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical industries, including over 6 years of data management experience. Prior to joining FirstString Research, Ms. Huffman was a Data Manager for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where she led three clinical research trials, including a Phase III start-up study and two Phase II on-going studies on stroke and aphasia. While working as a Data Manager at MUSC, she designed and managed new and existing clinical trial databases within EDC systems. Ms. Huffman also created case report forms (CRFs) per protocol specifications, developed and maintained Data Management Plans and CRF Collection Guidelines, performed database validation, allocated and revoked user rights and permissions, performed routine data cleaning and manual data checks facilitated through the use of SQL, managed and resolved data discrepancies, and provided technical training and support for EDC system users. Ms. Huffman currently works at FirstString Research as a Data Manager Lead. Her responsibilities include assisting in CRF design, performing user acceptance testing, editing check development and review, leading data cleaning initiatives, query generation and resolution, performing and monitoring ongoing data reviews, producing metrics and status reports, and conducting database lock activities. She also provides oversight of data management related work performed by CROs and external vendors. Ms. Huffman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Experimental Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology.
