Danny Maher is the Chairman of Venture Capital Firm 42 Ventures. He has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry and is one of Australia's most active tech investors.
Mr Maher is a successful entrepreneur, an experienced commercialiser of innovation and one of Australia's leading technology figures.
Mr Maher has built and exited multiple companies in addition to investments in many companies that have successfully exited. Notably Mr Maher was the only exec shareholder of the NetStar group which was sold to Logicalis in 2002 for $25Million and Mr Maher was the founder of Opmantek which was sold to FirstWave for $62Million in 2022. Mr Maher has been involved in a non exec capacity in many more tech exits. Mr Maher now serves as FirstWav's Managing Director as part of the Opmantek transaction.
In 2017, Mr Maher co-founded the Gold Coast Innovation Hub, a community-driven organisation that helps entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. Mr Maher served as Chairman of the organisation for two years and now focuses on its investment arm 42 Ventures which he chairs and actively invests with.
Mr Maher led a group of business people that reformed football club Gold Coast United which was successfully immediately admitted to the National Premier League (one level below A League). The club within 12 months grew it status to have a Gold Level academy and was ranked the top academy in Queensland and the only Gold rated academy catering for both male and female players.
Mr Maher currently chair's the Gold Coast's A-League bid.
Mr Maher was named Australian CEO of the year in 2015.
