Jim Johnson

Jim Johnson is an executive vice president and head of the Merchant Solutions segment within FIS. He is an accomplished business executive and charismatic leader with over 25 years in the financial technology industry.

Among Johnson’s many responsibilities, he oversees the strategic direction, profitability, sales, day-to-day operations and long-range growth of the company’s Merchant segment.

Prior to taking over the Merchant business, Johnson previously ran FIS’ Payments division. The business thrived under his leadership, with the highest growth rate in the division’s history. He has also led the Issuing business and served as the financial controller of Metavante (now FIS). Johnson also spent five years with the Benefit Consulting Company, then known as Hewitt (purchased by AON), managing 401K systems for Fortune 300 companies.

He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Marquette University’s School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
