FishLead Blue Innovation Hub Ltd/Gte is a registered not-for-profit social enterprise established to address skills, leadership, interest, and knowledge gaps among young people within the African blue economy sectors.
The youth-led organization works across the blue economy value chain to build technical capacity, empowering the next generation to drive and accelerate sustainable regional blue economy innovations.

We noticed a significant issue: The African aquaculture sector faces significant structural bottlenecks, especially limited technical expertise among the youth. We mitigate these challenges through tailored training initiatives, such as our Aquaculture Skills for Impact Programme (ASIP) which delivers hands-on instruction in hatchery management, fish health, rearing systems, feed and nutrition, post-harvest and value addition, business, and entrepreneurship to students, youths, and young professionals.

In addition to technical training, the hub operates early-career intervention initiatives such as the Catching Aquaculture Professionals Young Outreach Programme, the Campus Chapters Initiative, and Monthly Webinars, Workshops, and Masterclasses programs, which connect our community members with academic and industry mentors across the globe.

Our Circular "Give-Back" Model:
To keep our development programs entirely free and accessible for youths, we operate FishLead Enterprise. 100% of net profits from our commercial aquaculture consultancy, farm production, hatchery management, and input supply services are directly reinvested into funding the hub’s non-profit programs for youth.
Crucially, our commercial demonstration facility doubles as a live learning lab, providing students and young professionals with hands-on technical mastery, agribusiness exposure, and real-life commercial experience.

Our primary objective is developing a highly skilled and innovative youth workforce, capable of securing the future of Africa and global food systems.
