William Burke

William Burke has a diverse range of work experience in engineering and product design. William is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Five Flute, where they focus on issue tracking and collaboration for physical product development teams. Prior to this, from 2016 to 2020, they worked at Cooper Perkins, first as a Mechanical Engineer and later as the Director of Engineering. In these roles, they led engineering teams and oversaw the development of technologies and products in various industries, including medical devices, consumer electronics, and robotics. Additionally, they implemented modern engineering tools and practices, mentored junior engineers, and improved onboarding processes. Before joining Cooper Perkins, William worked at Plethora as the Lead Hardware Engineer and at Self as a Product Design and Engineering Consultant. William also gained experience as a Design Engineer at Marine Advanced Research and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Vehicle Systems and Safety (CVeSS). Earlier in their career, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Flexicell Robotic Solutions Inc. and as a Suspension and Drivetrain Engineer for the Virginia Tech Formula SAE Design Team. Overall, William Burke has a strong background in engineering and product development, with expertise in diverse industries.

William Burke completed their Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech from 2003 to 2007. William pursued further education at the same institution from 2008 to 2010, earning another Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
