Russell Darling has been working in the entertainment industry since 1996. Russell began their career at Industrial Light & Magic as a Sr. Systems Architect, Digital Video Engineering and Technologies, where they developed technology for the acquisition and playback of live-action footage captured with newly invented digital cameras. Russell then moved to Tippett Studio as a Computer Graphics Supervisor, Visual Effects for Feature Films and Senior Software Developer, VFX Research and Development. In 2009, they joined Double Negative as a Pipeline Supervisor, Visual Effects for Feature Films and Pipeline Supervisor, Feature Animation. In 2015, they became the Technology Architect, Feature Animation at Locksmith Animation. In 2017, they were Technology Supervisor, Feature Animation at Mikros Animation. Most recently, in 2018, they joined Five AI as Senior Product Manager, Autonomous Driving Scenarios & Simulation and Technical Art Director, Synthetic Data Generation for Machine Learning.
Russell Darling attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
