Shane Christopher has been working in the software engineering industry since 2006. In 2006, they took a student co-op position at APC as a programmer, writing VB. NET applications. In 2007, they worked as a website designer and photographer at Craughwell Furniture, where they were in charge of updating and maintaining the company's website, as well as IT support for the various servers and computers on the premises. In 2009, they studied a MSc. in Interactive Entertainment Technology at Trinity College Dublin. From 2011 to 2018, they worked at Double Negative as a Research & Development Software Engineer, researching and implementing the latest technology to aid artists in their work on large scale films. Shane was also the lead developer of a real-time viewer for volume files supporting both openvdb and the company's in-house volumetric format. Since 2018, they have been a Lead Software Engineer and Senior Simulation Engineer at Five AI, where they are the component lead in the simulation and testing team, developing the tooling necessary to create scenarios and visualise the output of the AI network.
Shane Christopher has a diverse educational background. Shane began their studies in 1998 at Presentation College Athenry, where they completed their Leaving Certificate in 2003. Shane then attended Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, where they earned an Ordinary degree in Multimedia Programming in 2005. In 2008, they graduated with an Honours degree in Software Development from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. Finally, in 2010, they earned a Master's degree in Interactive Entertainment Technology from Trinity College Dublin.
