James Joseph Devine

James Joseph Devine has a long history of work experience. James Joseph began their career in 1998 as a Developer at TM Software. In 2000, they moved to Góðar Lausnir where they were a Developer and Project Manager developing tech solutions such as offline payments with chip cards and online payments with mobile phones over WAP. In 2001, they worked as a Developer at Mens Mentis and then in 2003 they moved to the Directorate of Fisheries as a Senior Developer and Project Manager, developing in Java and PHP, managing projects, and working with Oracle PL/SQL and DB development. In 2007, they joined Landsbanki Luxembourg as a Senior Developer working in c# .Net development and MS SQL development. In 2008, they were promoted to Head of IT at Landsbanki Luxembourg S.A. in Liquidation, where they were responsible for user support, firewall configuration, Evault backups, VmWare management, running and maintaining servers, managing exchange server, and more. In 2009, they joined five°degrees as Head of SaaS and held various other roles such as Director Quality Assurance, Director Release Management, Director of Product Services, Director of Quality Assurance, and Infrastructure Architect. In their roles, they were responsible for ensuring high quality of products, automating release management pipelines, supporting development teams with automation, and leading the DevOps culture.

James Joseph Devine has an extensive education history. James Joseph completed an Elementary school degree from Hvassaleitisskóli from 1983 to 1992. Following that, they obtained a Stúdentspróf degree in Business from Verzlunarskóli Íslands from 1992 to 1996. James Joseph then completed a Kerfisfræði degree in Computer Science from Tölvuháskóli Verslunarskóla Íslands (TVÍ) from 1996 to 1998. Finally, they obtained a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Reykjavik University from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, they have obtained numerous certifications from Microsoft, including Azure AI Fundamentals, Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, Azure Data Fundamentals, Power Platform Fundamentals, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert, and Identity and Access Administrator Associate.
