Tonia Sapia is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in academia and project management. Currently serving as the Leader of Strategic Programs and previously in various marketing and project management roles at the FIWARE Foundation since September 2018, Tonia has also been a Ph.D. doctor at Bethlehem University, where responsibilities include teaching research methodology and consulting for the Master in International Cooperation and Development program. Prior roles include a researcher focused on technology transfer at Innova BIC, contributing to international projects such as ETRERA 2020, and an assistant professor at the University of Messina, specializing in sociology and social research methods. Tonia holds a Master’s degree in sociology and a Ph.D. in intercultural sociology, with a doctoral thesis examining identity through the lens of culture.
