Mark Barron

Mark Barron currently serves as the Regional Ops Director for Europe and the United States at FLAG, a position held since November 2025. Prior to this role, Mark Barron spent over a decade at GCX, progressing from Global Facilities Engineering Manager (2005-2008) to Network Facility Operations and Maintenance Manager (2014-December 2025). Earlier experience includes positions at FLAG Telecom as Global Facilities Project and Colo Implementation Manager (2002-2005) and Facilities Design and Implementation Manager for the FLAG North Asia Loop Project (2000-2002). Mark Barron was also involved as Backhaul Design Authority for the Flag Atlantic 1 Project (1999-2000) and as a Capacity Manager Consultant for Hermes Europe Railtel in Brussels (1999). Mark Barron holds a Bachelor's degree with honors in Electronic Systems Engineering - Telecoms from the University of Essex (1992-1996) and has additional education from Ipswich Tech College - UEA (1988-1990) and Cambridge College of Arts and Technology (1987-1988).
