Helen Slone

Helen Slone has a solid background in web development and technical leadership. Helen'smost recent role was as an Engineering Team Lead at Flagstone, where they led a small team and played a critical role in automating manual processes. Helen also headed up the Front End Community of Practice and provided mentorship and training to junior colleagues. Prior to that, Helen was a Technical Lead at Flock, where they refactored code to improve front-end development and reduce barriers for new developers.

Helen previously worked at F1000 Research Ltd as a Frontend Team Leader, managing a team of developers and UI designers and leading the development of a prototype React application. Helen also worked as a Frontend Developer at the same company.

Helen'searlier experience includes roles as a Javascript Developer at Cambridge Cognition Plc, a Developer at Insites Digital, and a Developer at GoAgency.

Helen also has experience as a freelance web developer and online marketing manager, where they worked with clients to develop websites and build bespoke applications.

Before pursuing a career in web development, Helen worked as a Secondary School Teacher at Whitby High School.

Helen Slone completed their BEng in Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial College London from 1999 to 2001. In 2003, they obtained an Advanced Certificate in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Later, they pursued a PGCE Secondary Science degree in Education at Liverpool Hope University from 2006 to 2007.
