Bart Theys

Bart Theys is a Senior Application Engineer at Flanders Make since October 2021, following a significant tenure at KU Leuven from September 2007 to October 2021, where roles included Post-Doctoral Researcher, Part-time Lecturer, and Consultant. At KU Leuven, Bart conducted research on enhancing the flight performance of multicopters, hybrids, VTOLs, and UAVs, and taught courses on Aircraft Performance & Stability and Aviation Technology. Bart initially focused on drone activities within the Robotics Research Group and held a PhD researcher position that emphasized UAV modeling, design, and control. Education includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven and an RPAS pilot Class 1 certification from BAFA - Ben Air Flight Academy.
