Flare Governance is a Brussels-based non-profit organisation working towards a future where mankind is thriving and life on Earth is sustainable. We catalyse impactful change by bringing together power and knowledge brokers to weave a new narrative for collective action in the face of global crisis. 

Problem:

Division and polarisation in our societies are increasing rapidly, pitching ordinary people against the system (including institutions, political, economic and intellectual elites, as well as traditional information channels). Suspicion and opposition are manifesting themselves across four domains: society, politics, the economy  and the environment. Constructive dialogue is becoming increasingly difficult.

This poses great dangers to our democracies, and to the security of our societies. It stops us from taking the urgent action needed to safeguard or future on this planet. It also endangers our collective peace and safety, making civil unrest and violence a worrying new reality.

Solution:

Flare brings unlike minds together and enables them to have difficult, purposeful conversations. We help those with the power to drive change hear each other and develop a shared language for change. Together we commit to a common course of action.

How do we do this?

1.	We take meetings outside of the usual spaces that exclude, to break ordinary patterns of engagement and unhelpful norms that limit dialogue. We bring our shared humanity to the fore.

2.	We work with participants to develop shared language that works for all, to tell a common story and work together for shared outcomes.

3.	We model effective strategies for dialogue, working with others to make change happen, practicing what we preach and showing the way.
