Iris Borghese

State Regional Literacy Director

Iris Borghese is a State Regional Literacy Director at The Florida Department of Education, a role they have held since 2020. Previously, they served as Assistant Superintendent at The School Board of Highlands County from 2019 to 2020, and as School Principal and Assistant Principal at Hendry County School Board during the years 2017-2019 and 2015-2017, respectively. Iris also worked as a District Coordinator for MTSS at Collier County Schools from 2011 to 2014 and as a Regional Facilitator/Research Faculty at Florida State University from 2014 to 2015. They began their career as a Per Diem Trainer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt from 2003 to 2007. Iris is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education at Northcentral University and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Special Education and Teaching at the University of South Florida.
