Michael Barrett is the Deputy General Counsel at The Florida Department of Education, a position held since 2025. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Director for Public Policy and In-House Counsel at the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops from 2020 to 2025. Michael also worked as an Associate at Vezina, Lawrence & Piscitelli, P.A. from 2017 to 2020 and gained teaching experience as a Math Teacher and Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at Jean Ribault High School through Teach for America from 2011 to 2014. They earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2017.
