Bob Beaty

Bob Beaty has over two decades of experience in the software engineering field. Bob started their career in 1996 as a Senior Systems Architect at FirstChicago/BankOne. In this role, they were a member and manager of a Technical Architecture Group, focusing on all aspects of reuse within the Capital Markets Group. Bob then moved to UBS/O'Connor in 2001, where they were a Consultant/Programmer. Bob was responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and leading support for live, ticking, risk display and reporting tools. In 2009, Bob became a Senior Developer at Chicago Trading Company. Bob then moved to PEAK6 Investments LP in 2010, where they were a Senior Systems Architect. In 2012, Bob joined Groupon as an Expert Engineer, working in both the Sales and Planning Group and the Product Group. Bob then moved to Centro in 2015 as a Senior Principal Engineer. In the same year, Bob joined Guaranteed Rate as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led the migration from monolithic legacy .Net app to SOA Clojure-based system of small services. In 2018, Bob became a Principal Engineer at The Climate Corporation, where they were responsible for coordinating the architecture of all projects in the group with the corporate architecture. Finally, in 2020, Bob joined Flexbase as a Principal Software Engineer and Vodori as a Director of Engineering. At Flexbase, they worked with start-up Founders to build Financial Services and Cash Flow solutions focused on the small to medium-sized Construction company market. At Vodori, they worked with senior leadership to help empower the development group with the hard-won lessons of several decades of experience in the industry.

Bob Beaty received their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Indiana University\u2013Purdue University Indianapolis in 1980. Bob then attended Purdue University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) in 1988, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) in 1988, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1988.
