Senior Backbone Engineer at Flexential

Sean Gannon has extensive work experience in the field of network engineering and IT support. Sean began their career in 2003 as a Helpdesk Technician at Alutiiq, where they assisted in various IT duties. In 2008, they worked as a Global Helpdesk Associate at Genesys Conferencing, providing technical support for conferencing software. Sean then joined Weston Distance Learning as an IT Specialist, supporting a large number of users and servers. Sean implemented various technologies, such as Cisco ASA and MS Threat Management Gateway.

In 2010, Sean became a Network Engineer at Black Box Network Services, where they gained experience in network infrastructure. Sean then joined Centura Health as a Network Engineer, responsible for maintaining and securing the company's edge and site firewalls. Sean also worked as a Cisco Security Engineer at Centura Health, implementing security policies and managing VPN tunnels.

From 2014 to 2017, Sean served as a Senior Network Engineer at Peak Hosting, where they designed and supported complex hosting environments. Sean also provided consulting services for a global pharmaceutical company and led a team responsible for remediation across multiple sites.

In 2017, Sean joined Atos as a Senior Network Engineer, supporting Disney. Sean was involved in network engineering and provided technical expertise until their departure in 2018.

Currently, Sean works at Flexential, where they started as a Backbone Engineer. Sean was later promoted to the position of Senior Backbone Engineer, where they continue to contribute their expertise.

Throughout their career, Sean has gained comprehensive knowledge and skills in areas such as WAN/LAN, firewall, load balancing technologies, Cisco, Juniper, F5 equipment, and security protocols, such as IPSec and SSL VPN.

Sean Gannon attended Colorado Mesa University from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a degree in Business Management program and obtained a B.B.A. In addition, they received certifications from Cisco, including CCNP in October 2012 and CCNA in March 2010.
