Chris Whitaker

Chris Whitaker has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Chris started their career as a Consultant Software Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation, specializing in high availability clustering and cluster file systems. Chris then joined Microsoft as a Group Program Manager before moving on to Amazon, where they served as a Senior Software Development Manager for the AWS Service Catalog service. At Facebook, Chris worked as a Manager for Production Engineering, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive consistency for the Messenger product. Chris then joined Avalara as the Director of Technical SaaS Operations, where they managed strategic direction and a multimillion-dollar AWS budget for public cloud infrastructure. Chris then transitioned to Salesforce, where they held the positions of Senior Director of Product Management for Big Data and later, Senior Director of Software Engineering for Big Data compute services. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Software Development at Flexera.

Chris Whitaker attended Imperial College London from 1985 to 1988, where they obtained a BSc(Eng) degree in Computer Science. Chris also obtained a certification in Programming Foundations: Design Patterns from LinkedIn in 2018.
