Michael Simmons has a long and varied work experience. From 2000-2001, they were the Business Unit Manager (Products) at Prosoft Engineering, where they initiated, managed, and closed the acquisition of Radialogic (a subsidiary) by Apple, and developed and designed new products. From 2001-2005, they were a System Engineer, Education at Apple, where they worked with internal product development teams and delivered technical marketing presentations and product/technology trainings at multiple events. From 2005-2007, they were the Events Supervisor/Multimedia Product Manager at PASCO scientific, where they supervised conferences, workshops, meetings, and exhibits, and performed presentations. From 2007-2008, they were the Director of Product Marketing at Ambrosia Software, where they designed user experiences for various products and developed marketing campaigns. From 2008-2010, they were the Director of Business Development and Product Marketing at Cultured Code, where they were responsible for business planning, marketing, and launch strategies for Things. From 2010-2014, they were the CEO & Co-Founder of Flexibits, where they were responsible for business development, product design, user interface, user experience, marketing, public relations, and operations/resource management. From 2011-2014, they were the Co-Founder of HockeyApp, where they managed the acquisition by Microsoft in December 2014. From 2014-2022, they were an Advisor at Microsoft and algoriddim GmbH, and from 2022 to present, they have been an Advisor at The Browser Company.

Michael Simmons attended SUNY Geneseo from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
