Simone Accornero has a diverse work experience in the energy sector.
In 2014, they completed a university internship at Technical Physics Labs at DIENCA – University of Bologna, where they gained expertise in energy performance certification, analysis and calculation of energy requalification interventions, and HVAC system design.
From 2016 to 2017, they worked at OpenDomo Services S.L. as an Energy Management Consultant, focusing on business installations energy auditing, energy consultancy, and energy management.
In 2017, they founded FlexiDAO and served as the Co-Founder & CEO.
During this time, they also worked as a Research Engineer at InnoEnergy until September 2017.
In 2020, they became a Guest Lecturer at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Currently, they are an Advisory Committee Member at EnergyTag, starting from April 2022.
Simone Accornero began their education at Wellington High School, where they completed their high school degree. Afterward, they attended Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna from 2012 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Energy Engineering. In 2013 to 2014, they studied at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and obtained another Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Energy Engineering.
Moving forward, from 2015 to 2017, Simone pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Energy for Smart Cities at two institutions simultaneously, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and KU Leuven. Additionally, in 2017, they attended the College of Europe for an Executive Education course titled "Energy Union: Challenges and vision for a common EU energy policy," focusing on Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law.
Simone also holds several certifications, including the Energy Union Executive Education Course from the College of Europe, obtained in July 2017. Additionally, they have a DELE C1 certificate from Instituto Cervantes and a TOEFL score of 109/120 obtained from ETS. Lastly, they completed the ECDL FULL - European Computer Driving License, although the institution and obtained dates are not provided in the available information.
