Dwane O'Connor has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Dwane began their career at Pratt & Whitney as a Jet Engine Test Cell Operator before moving on to Canadair Challenger as an Aircraft Technician. Dwane then worked at Consolidated Natural Gas/Dominion as an Aircraft Inspector/Technician, maintaining their fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. Following that, they joined Bombardier Aerospace as an Aircraft Technician and later as a Supervisor Field Service.

O'Connor then joined Flexjet, where they held various roles such as Supervisor Challenger Maintenance Control, Sr. Regional Maintenance Coordinator, and Supervisor Maintenance Control. Dwane also worked as an Aircraft Program Specialist/Engine Manager and Lead Fleet Technical Manager, overseeing Flexjet's fleet of aircraft and managing their engines and auxiliary power units.

In addition to their aviation experience, O'Connor also has experience outside the industry, having owned and served as a partner for West Hartford Merchants Partnership and served as the President of Churchwood Condominium Complex.

Prior to that, Dwane O'Connor completed their high school education at Conard High School from 1972 to 1976. Additionally, they pursued further studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Aircraft Composite and Structures Certification Repair Course and Basic Aircraft Fire Fighting and Aircraft Crash and Rescue Certification at West Virginia University. Dwane O'Connor holds certifications including an Inspection Authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration obtained in 1987, and an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license certification received in 1978.
