John Powell

John Powell has over 30 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry. John began their career at Motorola Solutions in 1989 as a Manufacturing Manager and Manufacturing Management, where they quickly progressed through Line Supervisor, Shift Administrator and Section Manager roles in a 100mm wafer fab. In 2001, they joined Freescale Semiconductor as a Business Manager and Staff Manager, where they directed support teams over 11 NPI test floors across the United States, Europe and Asia, and optimized and standardized business processes. In 2008, they moved to NXP Semiconductors as an Operations Manager, where they integrated operational processes/tools to support spend and forecast integrity with New Product Introduction development activities and launches at yield entitlement. John also worked closely with Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Planning, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, Quality and Manufacturing teams, and improved process and cadence for gathering all inputs and then developing spend forecasts and tracking progress toward those plans. In 2020, they joined FlexRadio Systems as Director of Lab Operations.

John Powell obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Electrical Engineering Route to Business from The University of Texas at Austin. John also holds a certification from LinkedIn in Jodi Glickman on Pitching Yourself, obtained in January 2019.
