Neil Smith

Neil Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Neil most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at Flexsys, starting in November 2021. Prior to that, Neil worked at Eastman Chemical Company from 2012 to 2021, holding roles such as Technology Leader for Specialty Fluids and Energy, as well as Technology Director for Rubber Additives. Before their time at Eastman Chemical Company, they worked at Solutia from 2010 to 2012 as the Technology Director for Technical Specialties, and prior to that, they were a Production Supervisor at Solutia from 2009 to 2010. Neil began their career at Solutia in 1999, where they worked as an R&D Chemical Engineer and later as a Group Leader until 2009.

Neil Smith began their education by studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 1990 to 1995, earning a B.A.Sc. degree. Neil then pursued a higher level of education by completing a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University from 1997 to 2000. Finally, Neil Smith attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 2001 to 2004 to obtain a Professional MBA degree with a focus on Business.
