Paul Johnston

Paul Johnston has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Paul is currently working as a Compliance Manager at Flinks since January 2022. Prior to that, they were an Information Security Analyst - GRC at Higher Logic, where they integrated the Vanilla Information Security Program with the existing ISO27001 Higher Logic. Paul was also responsible for security and compliance engagement with customers and prospects of the Vanilla solution. Before their role at Higher Logic, Johnston worked at Vanilla Forums as an Information Security Officer from March 2019 to June 2021. During this time, they created an industry-standard SOC 2 compliant and audited Information Security Program, designed and implemented an Incident Response Plan, and performed risk assessments for the organization. Paul also monitored and implemented global privacy requirements. Additionally, Johnston worked as a Consultant Lecturer at Faculty Training Institute, a Principal Consultant and Senior Consultant at allaboutXpert, and a Business Analysis Manager at Sybrin Systems. Paul also founded Prophecy.co.za, an award-winning e-commerce business providing IT hardware and IT consulting.

Paul Johnston studied Journalism at the University of Johannesburg and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. In 2015, they enrolled in the Diploma Programme in Business Analysis at the Faculty Training Institute and graduated with merit.
