Chris Watkins has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as a freelance UX consultant, designer, and developer. During this time, they conducted client, user, and market research, created high-fidelity design documentation, and interactive prototypes. In 2016, Chris worked as a UX and front-end developer at Media Motors, focusing on crafting interfaces and experiences for websites and applications in the automotive industry. At M*Modal in 2018, they had an internship as a UX intern, where they improved voice interactions for physicians using speech-enabled content. Chris also worked as a graduate research assistant at Purdue University from 2017 to 2019, funded by the National Science Foundation, working on various research projects under different professors. Chris also worked as a web developer during this time, liaising with stakeholders and solving critical user interaction issues. In 2019, they joined Floify as a product designer and later became the lead product designer, responsible for designing and improving the product. Additionally, Chris served as a director at Precision Plastics, where they provided industry-specialized services and negotiated contracts with clients and manufacturers. Chris also had a web development internship at Rouncy Media Ltd in 2013, where they conducted competitor and comparator analysis and created interactive prototypes for a new company website.
Chris Watkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Web Design & Development from Northumbria University between 2012 and 2015. Later, Chris pursued a Master of Science degree in Human Centered Design & Development from Purdue University, which took place from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, Chris obtained a certification in Social Behavioral Research Investigators and Key Personnel from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, in January 2018.
