FLOPONOR was founded in 1996 in Rio de Mel, Trancoso, by Secundino do Nascimento and Altino Rua. At the time, both had more than a decade of work in the forestry sector and wanted to create a relevant company for the sector in Portugal, capable of overseeing our forest and thus protecting it. Today, FLOPONOR is one of the most solid and recognized forestry companies in the country.
In 1998, FLOPONOR expanded its operations to the area of waste management, generating RESUR. The objective was to respond to the company's environmental concerns and provide an excellent service to the welcoming ones. Nowadays, RESUR is recognized for its operational capacity and the level of satisfaction of those it serves.
In 2001, FLOPONOR started its activity in the construction area with ASCOP, thus expanding its scope of action to a new complementary business area with the existing ones. The synergies between the three areas allowed for rapid but sustainable growth in this segment as well.
Over the years there has been a specialization in public and private works in general, with a focus on the industrial and agro-industrial segments.

In 2001, FLOPONOR moved into the building industry with ASCOP, thus broadening its business interests with a new project that complemented its existing areas of work. The synergies between the three areas of business meant fast and sustainable growth was also possible in this sector.
Presently, FLOPONOR is a diversified group, with a solid market position in three areas of business – Forestry, the Environment and Building – we a vision to grow continuously in each of these areas, and we are always ready to embrace new opportunities which are economically and socially sustainable.
