Ellen Maat

Ellen Maat is a governance and healthcare executive who currently serves on the supervisory boards of Zorggroep De Opbouw and Eigen Haard and sits on the Economic Board The Hague. They previously held leadership and board roles across several organizations, including Director of Innovation & ICT and Director Strategy, Quality & Innovation at Cordaan (2012–2014), and supervisory board positions at Alrijne Ziekenhuis (2017–2025) and DeSeizoenen B.V. (2016–2019), among others. Their earlier career includes a tenure at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (2008–2011) in roles such as program director innovation in care, project leader PGB, program manager, policy officer disability policy, and head of the ICT in care program office, and they worked as a management consultant at Verdonck, Klooster & Associates (2011–2012) with an interim manager assignment at NICTIZ. They earned an MA in public administration from Radboud University (1990–1996) and an MPA from the Nederlandse School voor Openbaar Bestuur (2002–2004), along with Verbindend en Reflectief Leiderschap training at Comenius Leergangen (2016–2018) and financial management in care studies at Nyenrode (2016).
