Ryan Jones

Ryan Jones is a Senior CFD Engineer at FLOW-3D, specializing in customer success and the development of advanced software features for 3-D modeling of complex fluid flows since September 2022. Previously, Ryan served as a USGS Mendenhall Fellow, focusing on modeling post-wildfire debris-flow inundation and contributing to landslide and debris-flow motion model development. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University, where research involved granular material simulation and led to significant academic contributions. Prior roles include a CFD Engineer at Alden and various engineering positions at Lockheed Martin, with a solid foundation in computational fluid dynamics and project management across diverse applications. Ryan's educational background includes a Master’s degree from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver.
