Sean Russell has a diverse work experience in the energy and engineering sectors. Sean began their career as an Engineering Intern at Reliant Energy, where they designed power plant equipment systems and analyzed data for maintenance. Sean then worked as a Teaching Assistant at Penn State University before joining GenOn Energy, where they served as an Engineering Project Manager and Florida Plants Liaison. In this role, they successfully managed projects involving equipment and facility maintenance and upgrades at gas power generating stations. After GenOn Energy, Sean joined Colorado Energy Management as a Plant Engineer, providing outage support, project development, and contractor management. Sean currently works at Flowserve as a Sr. Applications Engineer and Team Lead, specializing in technical support for the vertical turbine pump product line, with a focus on the power, oil, and gas markets, as well as specialized molten salt pumps for the solar power market and the pipeline market.
Sean Russell attended Penn State University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned two Bachelor's degrees. Sean obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Energy Engineering. In 2008 to 2009, they also earned a minor in Engineering Leadership from Penn State University. Additionally, Sean Russell obtained several certifications, including Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Practitioner from Flowserve Corporation, and a Six Sigma Yellow Belt from Penn State University.
