Jonathan Melton

Jonathan Melton is a skilled engineer with extensive experience in sensor hardware, RF development, and controls automation. Currently serving as Lead Engineer at FLSmidth in Midvale, UT, Jonathan focuses on technical product development for prognostic health management solutions in the mining sector. Previous roles include Senior Principal Controls and Automation Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where Jonathan contributed to machine operation and control system design, and Principal Research Scientist, working on thermal analysis and sensor technologies. As the Founder of Turquoise Sky Engineering and Scientific, Jonathan designed dust sensor payloads for aerial drones. Jonathan's background includes positions at Orbital ATK as a Senior Research Scientist and early engineering roles at ConocoPhillips, where Jonathan developed monitoring programs for gas wells and conducted studies on permafrost. Jonathan earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
