Tom Spalding

Tom Spalding is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in design and production within the mineral processing equipment sector. Currently serving as a Senior Designer at FLSmidth since September 2017, Tom focuses on developing innovative tooling methods utilizing advanced 3D printing technologies and analyzing vibration data for various equipment. Previously, as a Product Development Specialist at FLSmidth from September 2012 to October 2016, responsibilities included designing tooling for polyurethane wear components. Earlier roles include Production Supervisor at SOS Components Pty Ltd, managing prototyping teams, and Operations Manager at Envizage RP, overseeing larger teams and assisting with budgeting. Tom holds a Master of Business in Applied Finance and multiple degrees in Industrial and Product Design from Queensland University of Technology, complemented by a high school education at Brisbane Grammar School.
