David Hawley

David Hawley, PhD, is a Principal Scientist at Fluence Bioengineering, specializing in LED-based horticultural lighting systems and controlled growth environments. They previously held positions as a Research Associate at the Controlled Environment Systems Research Facility at the University of Guelph, where they designed experiments to optimize lighting for plant development. David also contributed as a Teaching Assistant and has a diverse background in music education and retail, where they significantly increased sales in electronics. They hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from the University of Guelph, as well as a PhD in Controlled Environment Agriculture.
