Ronen Shechter

Chief Technology Officer at Fluence Corporation

Ronen Shechter serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Fluence. Mr. Shechter co-founded Emefcy in 2008 and served as their CTO for over 9 years prior to joining Fluence. In his role at Emefcy, Mr. Shechter was dedicated to providing solutions based on membrane aerated biofilm reactors (MABR) and to developing electrogenic bio-reactors (EBR) for wastewater treatment. Mr. Shechter has over 25 years’ experience in water and wastewater technology and has over a dozen of granted patents and pending applications in the field.

Prior to co-founding Emefcy, Mr. Shechter co-founded AqWise, a developer and provider of MBBR and IFAS solutions for different wastewater treatment applications. Mr. Shechter began his career working for more than 10 years in water and wastewater R&D at TAMI, an Institute for industrial R&D of the ICL group, where he was primarily involved in, and eventually in charge of, desalination technology. Mr. Shechter is a chemical engineer and received his degree, cum laude, from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
