Peter Schmitt, PhD, is an accomplished professional in the fields of design and robotics, currently serving as the Co-Founder and CEO of Fluent Metal Inc. since June 2020. Prior to this role, Peter held significant positions including Chief Designer at Desktop Metal from October 2015 to May 2020, and Director of Design at General Sensing from September 2012 to September 2015. Additionally, Peter founded Original Machines LLC, operating from August 2011 to September 2015. Peter completed a Ph.D. in Robotics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2011 and also earned a Diploma from the Kunstakademie Duesseldorf, where Peter was a Meisterschueler in Fine Arts from 1999 to 2005.
