Mark Fields

Group President, Energy & Chemicals at Fluor Corporation

Mark Fields is the group president of Energy & Chemicals for Fluor, with global oversight for business development and operations in the upstream and downstream oil and gas markets as well as the chemical and petrochemical industries.

Prior to assuming his current position, he was president of Energy & Chemicals business in the Americas region, responsible for business development and operations in the upstream and downstream oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical industries in North, South and Latin America.

Since joining Fluor in 1981, Mr. Fields has held a variety of roles globally in project and construction management, project controls, estimating, materials management and commissioning and start-up management.

Mr. Fields has extensive experience on international projects. He has served as senior vice president and project director for the Tengizchevroil megaproject in Kazakhstan, project general manager for the Saudi Kayan petrochemicals complex, and project manager and general construction manager for the Jubail United Petrochemical Company petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia. He has led upstream, refining, mining, chemical and petrochemical projects, with a number of projects executed on a lump-sum basis.

He has a bachelor's degree in construction management from Purdue University and has attended executive management programs at Thunderbird School of Global Management, Wharton School of Business and INSEAD.
