Nigel Heather has a strong background in engineering and semiconductor companies.
Nigel started their career at GEC Hirst Research Centre, where they worked as an Engineer and Group Leader, focusing on designing novel CMOS VLSI architectures for array processors and DSP engines.
Nigel then joined PA Technology, where they worked as an Engineer and was involved in various client assignments, including speech recognition system evaluation and development of novel DRAM-based FPGA and control/DSP ASIC for a digital mobile radio.
Next, Nigel joined Symbionics Ltd as an Engineer and Program Manager. Nigel successfully managed a project for the development of a mobile data terminal, starting from a proposal stage to implementation and production. Later, Symbionics was acquired by Cadence Design Systems, and Nigel became the Operations Director, responsible for UK operations and delivery of client projects.
Following their role at Symbionics, Nigel joined Cadence Design Systems (Tality), Wireless & Multimedia Design Division as an Operations Director. Nigel led the integration of Symbionics Ltd with Cadence and took responsibility for a 30-person design group.
Nigel then joined ARC International as the VP of Engineering (Hardware IP). Nigel was hired to oversee design groups in the UK and US and drive the delivery of new processor releases with value-adding software components.
After that, they joined SiGe Semiconductor as the VP of Engineering, where they led design groups in the UK, Canada, and the US. SiGe was later acquired by Skyworks.
Next, Nigel moved to Cambridge Semiconductor Ltd, where they served as the VP of Engineering. Nigel was responsible for leading the transition from early R&D to product delivery and revenue. Under their leadership, CamSemi's IC products were adopted by major OEMs.
Nigel then joined Xaar as the Head of Program Management, P4 Product Platform. Nigel provided leadership in program management and was responsible for product developments.
Before their current role, Nigel worked at ams Sensors UK Ltd as the Senior Director of Engineering, Environmental Sensors. Nigel oversaw engineering operations and played a key role in the development of environmental sensor technology.
Currently, Nigel is working at FLUSSO LIMITED as the VP of Engineering.
Nigel Heather obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing Science from Imperial College London. Nigel completed their studies at the college from 1980 to 1983.
