Fergus Menzies

Fergus Menzies is a Senior FPGA Engineer at Flux Computing since May 2025, with a strong background in digital and embedded systems. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Digital IC Design Engineer at Ouster from January 2023 to May 2025, focusing on LIDAR image sensor ASIC design and FPGA development. At Leonardo, Menzies held multiple roles including Senior Firmware Engineer and Digital Hardware Engineer from July 2018 to December 2022, specializing in FPGA design for airborne laser rangefinders and image processing systems. Early experience includes a six-month MEng placement at Leonardo, where Menzies designed a fully FPGA-based image processing system, as well as a summer placement focused on implementing a CSI-2 receiver for a Xilinx FPGA. Menzies earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Edinburgh between 2013 and 2018.
