Flux Robotics develops magnetic intravascular navigation technology designed to make difficult endovascular procedures more predictable.

In many vascular interventions, one step remains highly uncertain: guiding a thin wire through complex or blocked blood vessels. Surgeons often rely on manual manipulation and repeated attempts, which can increase procedure time, radiation exposure, and the risk of vessel injury.

Flux Robotics addresses this bottleneck with a magnetic navigation platform that enables controlled guidewire steering inside the vascular system. By combining external magnetic actuation with magnetically responsive guidewires, the system allows surgeons to orient and stabilize the wire tip with greater precision during minimally invasive procedures.

The company is developing this technology to improve the reliability of complex endovascular tasks such as vessel cannulation and chronic total occlusion (CTO) navigation. Early research has demonstrated that magnetic navigation can significantly improve guidewire navigation efficiency in simulated endovascular tasks.

Flux Robotics is a spin-off from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and works closely with clinicians and academic partners to translate surgical robotics research into practical tools for the operating room.

The company’s mission is to make advanced vascular interventions safer, more consistent, and more widely accessible. By improving control during the most technically challenging steps of endovascular procedures, Flux aims to help physicians treat complex vascular disease with greater confidence while reducing complications and procedural burden.
