Daniel Graña

Daniel Graña is a developer at Fly.io. Daniel previously worked as a senior backend developer at Flinks from June 2021 to July 2022. Prior to that, they were the head of engineering at Zyte (formerly Scrapinghub) from July 2011 to March 2021, where they were responsible for scraping, data mining, infrastructure, and automation. From June 2007 to February 2012, they worked as a software and system developer at Insophia, where they were responsible for intranet systems architecture, version control systems, project management, continuous integration, VPNs, and virtual machines for production and development services. Daniel also served as the web architect of http://privnote.com (digg frontpage). From June 2007 to June 2011, they worked as a scraping leader, search, and infrastructure developer at mydeco, where they were responsible for developing a scraping bot based on Scrapy to scrape more than two thousand sites running on Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, SQS). Daniel also performed data mining of scraped data using a Hadoop cluster with Python, including dimensions parsing, image colours extraction, variants summarization, categorization, and facet detection using natural language processing. In addition, they developed search services using Xapian and Hadoop with Python.
