Jonathan Besuchet has over 10 years of experience in software engineering, robotics, and machine learning. Jonathan began their career in 2007 as an Assistant at EPFL, where they created software to count and characterize the bubbles contained in coffee's foam using microscopic imaging. In 2008, they joined OZWE as a Unity 3D Developer, Lead Mobile Developer, and R&D Engineer, where they developed mobile apps for companies in the luxury, tourism, and watch industries, as well as created a 3D-like video acquisition system. In 2013, they had a one-year stint at KAUST as a Software Engineer, where they learned about computer science applied to big data and cell biochemistry. In 2018, they joined Flyability as a Senior Software Engineer - Robotics and Machine Learning Engineer, where they were responsible for developing and integrating state of the art vision and LIDAR based SLAM algorithms to enable drone localization and mapping, as well as defining, designing, and making technological choices for the company's future software products.
Jonathan Besuchet has a varied educational background. Jonathan obtained a Master of Science in robotic from EPFL (Swiss federal institute of technologies, Lausanne) in 2008. Jonathan also obtained a Master in Micro engineering from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) between 2004 and 2008. Additionally, they attended EPSIC École professionelle de Lausanne, though they did not obtain a degree. Most recently, they have obtained several certifications from Coursera in 2021, including a Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter Tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects.
