Tim Corti is currently the VP of Hardware Engineering at Flyability. Prior to joining Flyability, Tim was an intern at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center GmbH from April 2014 to September 2014. There, they developed multi-scale material models for the thermal properties of glass and carbon fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP & CFRP) according to the intrinsic material composition. Additionally, Tim carried out thermal simulations for GFRP & CFRP materials under various heating conditions (conduction, convection and infrared radiation).
Creating a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for the numerical implementation of material and heat transfer models was another key responsibility Tim had during their time at Hyundai. Furthermore, they supported laboratory trials for the consolidation of thermoplastic laminates and the temperature monitoring for various heat transfers. Lastly, Tim was responsible for defining, managing and reporting on a weekly basis the project plan, timeline and budget. Tim was also the contact person for all technical issues and handled delivery delays with suppliers (raw materials, composite manufacturing, thermal characterization and research institutes).
Tim Corti pursued a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and ETH Zürich. Tim also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zürich. Tim is certified by ETS - Educational Testing Service in TOEFL iBT (107/120).
Some of their coworkers include Ludovic Daler - VP, Hardware Engineering. Tim Corti reports to Adrien Briod, Co-Founder & CTO.
