Samir Bouabdallah

Samir Bouabdallah has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of robotics and technology. Samir co-founded and held the role of CEO at Flybotix since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Technology and Entrepreneurship from January 2017 to April 2019. In 2016, they took a sabbatical leave to travel to Africa. From October 2011 to December 2015, they served as the Advanced Development (Research) Manager at ETEL S.A., where they managed the corporate advanced R&D team and developed strategic future technologies in precision motion systems. Before that, Samir founded and served as the CEO of Skybotix AG from February 2009 to October 2011, a leading developer of safe, autonomously navigating miniature aerial vehicles. Samir also worked as a Senior researcher & Project leader at ETH Zurich from July 2006 to October 2011, conducting research in robotics and drones and engaging in teaching activities. Prior to that, they were a PhD Student & research assistant at EPFL from November 2001 to June 2006, focusing on aerial robotics.

Samir Bouabdallah completed their PhD in Robotics at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2001 to 2006. Following that, they pursued a Post-Doc in Aerial Robotics at ETH Zürich, from 2006 to 2011.
