Alexander Severt started their career in 2015 as a Mechanical and Design Engineer at Water Planet, Inc. where they led the development of IntelliFlux Controls, an intelligent control system for water filtration plants. Alexander successfully showcased the system through pilot programs with WaterFleet and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
In 2016, they joined General Motors as an Algorithm Engineer and played a key role in the development of the CVT Transmission for Chevrolet and Buick cars. Alexander also patented a CVT control mechanism.
At General Motors, they also served as a Data Analyst, co-founding and leading a business analytics team. Alexander reverse engineered the Jira Align SQL Server database model, resulting in cost savings of $200K per year.
Currently, since 2023, Alexander works as an Analytics Engineer II at GrowthLoop (Flywheel).
Alexander Severt obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical and Ocean Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their degree, Alexander has obtained several certifications, including the Certified SAFe® 4 Scrum Master, Certified SAFe® 5 Scrum Master, Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager, and Certified SAFe® 5 Lean Portfolio Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. Alexander also holds certifications in Introduction to SQL and Introduction to Data Science from Hyperskill, and edX Verified Certificates for Big Data, Hadoop, and Spark Basics, as well as NoSQL Database Basics from edX.
