Principal Engineer at FM:Systems

Tony Bland has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Tony began their career as an Auditor at Deloitte, where they gained insights into commerce, costing, and financial control. Tony then transitioned to work at Raytronics Italia as a Product Manager, where they developed software for Machine Vision systems. Later, they became a Technical Director at Integral Vision, designing and manufacturing Machine Vision inspection systems.

Tony then went on to become the Director of Bronway Technology, specializing in designing and developing Machine Vision systems for the Optical Media and Solar Cell industries. During their time there, they developed an Optical Disc identification system and a solar cell alignment and electrode defect detection system.

Afterwards, Tony worked as a Contractor for multiple companies, where they developed hardware and software for various applications. Tony also served as a Principal Engineer at Blue Bear Systems Research, developing firmware and Machine Vision systems for unmanned aerial vehicles.

Tony then became the Director of Cepheus Ltd, where they continued to develop software and firmware for Cad-Capture and created a second-generation occupancy detection system. Currently, they are working as a Principal Engineer at FM:Systems, a facilities management company, where they transitioned from an independent contract role to directly employed status.

Tony Bland attended The University of Sheffield from 1984 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) (Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Tony also holds the certification of Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, but the specific month and year of its attainment are not provided.
