James Ellis

James Ellis has over nine years of software engineering experience. James'smost recent position was as a Senior Software Engineer at FocalPoint, where they currently work. Prior to that, they served as the Software Development Team Lead at Taraz Metrology Ltd from July 2020 to July 2021. In this role, they were responsible for building a metrology engine and application for additive manufacturing. James also set up team infrastructure, including git and Azure DevOps.

Before joining Taraz Metrology Ltd, James worked at Datapath for seven years. James'sroles at Datapath included Software Engineer in the Graphics Team from June 2019 to July 2020, Software Engineer in the WDDM Core Team from January 2017 to July 2019, Software Engineer in the .NET Team from December 2015 to December 2016, and Junior Software Engineer from November 2012 to December 2015.

During their time at Datapath, James gained experience in kernel and user mode development, implementation of D3D, and utilizing the .NET framework. James worked with technologies such as WPF, MEF, PRISM, Unity, and WCF. James also contributed to various projects, such as improving the custom build environment, implementing audio support using WASAPI, and creating a custom module for VLC.

James Ellis attended Nottingham High School from 1998 to 2003. James then went on to study at UCL from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics.
