Charisse Bennett

Charisse Bennett has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Charisse started their career in 1999 as an Intern at Selser Schaefer Architects, where they worked on design projects and assisted in marketing materials preparation. Charisse then served as a Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University, where they critiqued design students and assisted in grading assignments. In 2005, they joined Pickard Chilton as a Designer/LEED AP, collaborating on mixed-use projects and leading design coordination efforts. From 2011 to 2015, Charisse had multiple roles at The Creative Coast, Inc., including Program Director and Interim Executive Director, where they managed programs, events, workshops, and maintained official records. Charisse also worked as a Freelancer during this time. In 2014, they organized the Geekend Conference. Since 2015, Charisse has been a part of Focus Lab, initially serving as a Project Manager and currently as the Project Management Director. Overall, Charisse Bennett has a solid background in project management, program development, design, and team coordination.

Charisse Bennett has a strong educational background in the fields of design and architecture. Charisse completed their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Design Management from the Savannah College of Art and Design from 2009 to 2012. During the same period, they also obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Design for Sustainability from the same institution.

Prior to their time at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Charisse Bennett attended Oklahoma State University from 2000 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree. Their major areas of study during their undergraduate years were architecture and art.

In addition to their formal education, Charisse Bennett has also obtained a certification titled "Gretchen Rubin on Creating Great Workplace Habits" from LinkedIn, which they completed in October 2016.
