Isla Bint

Technical Assistant, Co-operative Affairs

Isla Bint has a strong foundation in dairy science and technology, complemented by a diverse professional background. From November 2021 to December 2022, Isla participated in the Fonterra Graduate Technical Programme, gaining hands-on experience in dairy processing and studying dairy science. Isla has held several positions at Fonterra, including Food Safety & Quality Technical Advisor and Innovation Portfolio Analyst. Prior experience includes roles as a waitress at Whananaki Cafe, a switchboard operator, and a Plant-Forward Dining Intern at Wake Forest University, where Isla contributed to outreach activities and collaborated on initiatives. Additionally, Isla has coached hockey, provided tutoring for Pasifika students, and conducted research on earthworms in an independent biology lab setting. Education includes a Master's degree in Dairy Science and Technology from Massey University, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wake Forest University, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury.
